[As far as Rose can figure, there are only two explanations for this scenario.

Option one: everything that just happened was completely real, and she is now completely sober, stuck in a town with citizens more unsettling than the many-limbed beings from the outer ring.

Option two: she is in fact in so drunk that she is imagining this all in some alcohol-induced stupor, and she is currently lying on the tiled floor of the meteor with a wine bottle in hand, possibly seconds away from liver failure.

She isn't sure which reality she's hoping for. Still, as long as she is here, she might as well gather intel. If this is a dream, then she'll have a fascinating look into her own psyche; if not, then she gets more information and can form a plan of action. She keeps a keen eye out for anybody who isn't wearing the same unsettling smile that most of the town's citizens are, and as soon as she spots someone, she makes her approach.]

For those of you invited into Usalia's home, it might be a confusing experience - you open the door, step through, and find yourself...outside?

Well, not exactly. If you look closer, you'll see the walls and ceiling are just painted to look like the sky, and what appears to be the sun is simply a powerful lamp embedded in the ceiling. The dirt under your feet is perfectly real, though - the tiny bunny girl carted it in herself - and it's neatly hoed into rows, with feathery green leaves spreading out over them. Usalia herself is crouching down and digging up the plants, which are...carrots.

Usalia...doesn't particularly care about Nightmares or Witches, so the fact that the local library has no information on them doesn't really matter to her. What does matter is that book on the history of curry is on the top shelf, and without her Prinny to ride around on she's simply not capable of reaching that high. She can, however, climb that high.

The shelves might be sturdy, but they weren't designed to be climbed like that, and it's simply a matter of time before they fall over. Someone should probably stop her.

[She feels like she's been asleep for a long time. Still, even then, she had a wish - a wish she shared with her father as they left home, as he ran so many tests, kept trying and trying while she couldn't do anything, but keep him smiling. Sleeping for so long, she falls to her knees after her feet touch the ground and she opens her eyes - opens her hands to the little white gem in her palms.]

Did... did it...? [That voice said it had, but did this gem mean...? So, she was a magi? She sits there on her knees, still staring at the gem. She should probably move, but she's a little more fixated on the orb.]

Home Improvement

[Several days into her arrival and settling into her home, she decides to start changing a few things. Maybe a little too carried away. The house is covered in so many flowers at this point, but she's trying to make it practical. Small house pots? But she doesn't like how that looks. Planters! It still looks bad.]

Hm...

[Flowers gone, she starts making the house smaller and covers practically her entire front yard flowers. It's already looking much better if very colorful.]

One: [If there's one thing that can be said in Gen's favor, it's that he can take a whole lot of weird crap in stride, or as 'in stride' as you can get with him. After all, dealing with this sorta crap's all part of being a Rider, right? Right. So, when his bedroom disappears out from under him, replaced by what looks to be a relatively normal small town, he only stands there and bellows in surprise for about half a second before getting straight to business.

Namely, bugging the hell out of every single townsperson he can find.

The little fuzzy guy said they were supposed to be protecting these people, right? So, what better way to do that than make friends with them first? It's a pretty solid plan, in Gen's mind. Everybody likes friends! only, there's a bit of a snag. Everyone seems kinda out of it, like they're sleepwalking or something, and every time he tries to bring up this magic stuff they get all evasive. It's a weirdly familiar thing, and it gives him the willies like nothing else. So, when he finally spots someone that looks about as confused and out of place as he is, it's his first instinct to try and get their attention.]

Yo! [He's practically barreling at them now, arms flailing.] YOOOOOO!! [Thankfully for everyone, he manages to stop just short of trampling anybody, instead jabbing an accusatory finger at this new (potential) friend.]

You're one'a those Meiji guys, right? [He's pretty sure that's how it's pronounced.]

<---" lined up all around the block. Anyone who actually bothers to check it out will find that there is, in fact, a moon base inside Gentaro's house. Or, at least, a pretty decent approximation of one. Most moon bases probably aren't as littered with crap. A weightlifting set, a couple books on the occult, assorted plush dolls. Almost like a bunch of dumb teenagers had their run of the place. Still, you can see the Earth from out the window, and the gravity's just a little wonky, so it's at least kind of believable.

Gentaro's there, too, alternately tooling around on a very expensive-looking guitar, lounging half asleep in one of the beanbag chairs, or trying to get the computers to do something other than just sit there and silently mock him.]

[ her emotions waver, as does the room around her before she thinks. yes! perfect. a stage all of her own. covered by curtains, kayochin drops the plush and steps out onto the newly manifested stage. beautiful, fit for the idol she always longed to become. there was no audience-- but that was okay, wasn't it?

[ An audience consisting of a confused grey skinned alien girl with candy corn looking horns is still an audience, or at least most would agree. Not that Kanaya quite knows what she's an audience to, merely standing in the doorway watching the room change with the girl's wavering feelings. Really, she should know better than to snoop, but it doesn't seem like this girl is much of a danger, more like she might need help. And helping others is something that comes easy to Kanaya, whether she likes it or not. ]

If you ask me, which I know you didn't and I'm just saying that to preface my forthcoming comment, it looks like this is some kind of stage for a performance of a type I'm not completely familiar with, though I assume it must be Human in origin?

[ Being passed idly by had been an irritation to him. But most people just saw a normal human boy, albiet, with white hair and red eyes, so why would they care? It felt... strange, but pleasant, on the other hand, to be somewhere else, to be out of that odd Underground. To be out of that living, walking, repeating nightmare, even if all his old power had gone.

His wish had been simple enough, at first glance; "I wish I had the power to win against them, so I wouldn't be alone anymore."

... So this was what had resulted, huh. The citizens were weird. He didn't like them; and he was waiting to talk to someone normal. That was what he wanted. But to anyone with magic, to anyone who could tell... you were being faced with a somewhat small goat-looking Boss Monster. Have fun with that. ]

[ Awkward, is what this is. He hasn't really... had emotions or known how to speak for people for a long, long while; he's going to have to get accustomed to this again, isn't he? ]

[ After settling into combat and somewhat getting used to his power here--it had been a little weird, but he'd gotten used to it--Asriel had decided he was tired of always looking so young, and he was slowly beginning to master magic. He seems pretty proud of himself, too, looking just a little bit older, horns on his head, the whole deal. It's a slight change, but he thinks he'll opt to look like this. And while he's out looking around, he'll use his mirror he keeps in his pocket to ask something. ]

[ She doesn't see him at first. She's too busy watching everybody else to see what they're doing. If she watches long enough, she can almost fall into a trance -- this group goes one way, that group goes another way -- almost like it's a pattern...

The walls are covered in photos of brightly-haired young women like her---her dear friends. The people she's fighting for. She greets everyone with a smile and a tray of various fruity muffins.]

Here, eat up! It's a little hard to think without some brain food.

In hindsight, carelessly making a wish like he did after everything that had happened in his life so far was probably a bad idea. At least suddenly appearing in a new place was nothing new, but how... disconnected the people he found himself interacting with was. Yu did try to get some kind of answer to his questions out of them, but the more he tried, the more he felt himself getting frustrated with their blank stares and non-answers.

He wanted to give up, but it was making him feel like his wish had been ignored. This... wasn't exactly what he meant when he said he didn't want to be alone again. He glanced around for someone, anyone, that looked like they might have been normal. It took a moment to find a person that didn't look like they were empty inside, and he hurried over, relief reflected in his eyes even if his expression barely twitched away from neutral.

"Excuse me," he began, polite as ever. "Do you know what's going on?"

NIGHTMARE
Yu had the patience and tolerance of a saint; he endured so much before he even came to this world, and only lost his cool once. Even that was but a brief moment where revenge had gripped his heart and he had almost made a mistake he would have regretted for the rest of his life, but he pulled out of it.

This, though? With everything that went on in this new world he had wished himself into, it was hard for even him to keep himself together.

He threw himself onto his bed that night, feeling the stress of the day and the hope of a better day tomorrow clawing at him. He buried his face in his pillow, closing his eyes as he felt a comforting warmth surround him; soft and warm, it was a pleasant way to drift off to sleep.

Unfortunately that was where the comfort ended. As soon as he felt his consciousness drift, it felt like he was being suffocated, closed off and isolated. Yu had no idea that his bed had swallowed him whole, twisting and turning and locking him inside an old television set. Some mockery of himself pressed up against the screen, grinning in tormented glee as static spread out across his house, ripping the building apart and reshaping it the way it wanted.

It probably wouldn't take someone on the outside long at all to figure out that something was seriously wrong.

It took a little time for word of what was happening to spread around the magi. In fact, outside others were still planning what to do. Yamato didn't wait.

Not that he was against forming a plan. But it was more the other Magi were more interested in waffling about, while the Nightmare had time to feed off Narukami's doubts and gain strength with every wasted moment. He would take point and MAYBE eventually the others would decide to do something useful.

If the static bothered him, he didn't show it, making his way through the warping house like he belonged there.

"I'm disappointed, Narukami." He didn't know the other young man personally. But he knew OF him. He had seemed calm and competent. Seeing him give into something like this was discouraging.

Fern Green | Awful Hospital: Seriously the Worst Ever

[Initially, she was thrilled to see humans out and about. It had been so long since Fern had seen anyone like herself. But as she tried talking with these people, she quickly realized how blase they were about everything. Because of course. Of course they'd have some kind of weird quirk. Why would she ever expect anything normal.

By the time she's encounters any magis, she seems completely disinterested in conversation. No point bothering with another weird... not-person.]

[Oh boy. Another world. A fourth one. Pokey just cannot contain his joy. You know that old saying, that old chestnut: fourth times the charm.

Oh wait no. No one says that because it's stupid.

A few moments here, and Pokey already regrets this. Realizes this has probably been just yet another blunder to add to the fantastic catalog of blunders that has been his life for the past five years. Oh well. Might as well start exploring this dumb place.

There's nothing particularly fancy to it; he's seen so much the odd layout of the town and architecture doesn't phase him. The people living her are nothing interesting too. Just people.

Until he asks them a question they can't answer. And they stare at him, blankly, before moving on. That is interesting. And weird. And terrifyingly familiar.

You can find the dude just kind of following the people who live here around. When he isn't just watching their behavior, he seems to be attempting to strike up actual conversations with them. As if he's determined to get something from them. To confirm something.

Or if you're a jerk and bugging or harassing one of the weird people here, you might find a stone hurtling straight for your head, courtesy of an obnoxious, and now unhappy, sixteen year old. Apparently, he doesn't take well to you harassing these things.]

[Oh come on these stupid things crack? He just dropped a book on it good god how flimsy are these hunks of junk. Whatever. He's sure it's fine and it'll probably...he doesn't know. Heal with magic or something he doesn't know. Magic seems to be a big thing about all this.

It's only when he's back out and about town that he realizes just how long he's done this. How many people he's known. Who bothered to care about him. And who he's repaid by leaving behind and jumping to another world time and time again. Over and over like clockwork, maybe not intentional betrayal but betrayal all the same.

Where are all those people now. He doesn't know. He tries to tell himself that. He doesn't know. They could be home safe. They could be happy. They aren't hurt or dying or gone in a surge of electrical power just going out or a world being devoured by a death goddess. They're fine. They could as easily be fine as they could be hurt.

He tells himself that. He doesn't buy it.

And it's his fault they're hurt, if they are. His fault for getting jostled around when others could have in his place. And it becomes obvious to him more and more how much of his fault it is, to the point that the next time he sees a window with his reflection he just stops and starts to hit the living hell out of it.]

Your fault! Yeah it is! Don't pretend you don't know! You're fault!

[Maybe it's just because he mistook her gentle prodding for harassment that he threw the rock at her. Maybe it's just because he doesn't recognize that pink dress and hair bow that he throws that rock at her. After all, I'm sure it has been quite a long time for him.

But it makes it's mark. It hits, and that bow gets knocked out of her hair and she's messed up now and there's small trickles of blood everywhere. She doesn't have her PSI anymore, how could she have seen it coming? But there's a 13-year-old-girl turning towards him now, one who looks gravely familiar.

And when her expression turns from mere anger to seething hatred, I'm sure he'll recognize that she has realized the same thing.]

[What a wonderful town, full of wonderful, helpful people.

The is the first time that the Doll has ever been outside the Hunter's Dream, but she can already tell that the people here are so very different than the many hunters she has met in her lifetime. They show no fear, they do not react to her with rudeness, fear or mistrust - they simply smile and behave as if they are happy.

And the Doll is happy for them.

Of course, she cannot begrudge the hunters of the Dream for their unhappiness. Yharnam is a dangerous, frightening place and they are meant to face many fearsome beasts within it. They are unfortunate not to have a place as peaceful as this to live - but such is not their role in things.

For a moment, the Doll worries very deeply about the fate of her dear Hunters. Will they be alright without her?

She shakes her head and tries not to worry too much, though. After all, what are the Magi of this land, if not Hunters themselves? If she is here now, her role is to help them as best she can.

That was her wish, after all.]

[ After a long search around the town and no sight of the trickster alien, Tokiya had finally gotten tired of walking around and decided to take a break. At least the park is calming, with its greenery and relative lack of the creepy people that populated this place.

It is only now that he starts examining the ring on his hand again, squinting a little at the runes carved around it. There are six symbols in total, and he can somehow guess at what it means. What a strange ring. He had been warned against leaving it too far away, and it hadn't done anything to him just yet. But he could be wrong. But then again, he could be doubly wrong.

[It doesn't take Gary long to realize the houses function like the rooms back in Waverly. Which, again, has him reacting by breaking out into a fit of laughter. Because really. But once he's done he decides to get to work setting up home base. He liked his room back in Waverly so he decides to go with that theme. Except...maybe a little more grand than he had it there. Floors lined with red carpet, banisters with imposing bull statues at the end, even a throne. Funnily enough the decor gives off a private school-ish feeling - one of those really expensive ones. He hadn't realized he'd done that...but he merely shrugs. It looks pretty badass to him anyway.]

It was disappointing he wouldn't get to see the world his friend would make, but seeing his data restore itself, become impenetrable, was enough. Yamato would trust in him to prevail. He had no doubt that he would.

Now he just had to pay his dues. So one might find the new Magi in the town square looking like someone that just walked out a war zone. Hair a mess, clothing disheveled. He adjusted his tie and eyed the first out-of-place person he could spot]
