If that's the case, then that's too bad! There are no take backs and no redoes, so you're stuck with what you have. Maybe you should have been more careful about how you worded that wish...

There's no use in dwelling on it. You're a magi now, and that means adjusting to a whole new lifestyle. Get ready to hit the ground running.

Home Improvement: The houses that the magi are given access to really are something, aren't they? There's almost no limit to what they can do! Why don't you create the house of your dreams, or maybe recreate and relive your favorite childhood scenes? Invite some spectators over to marvel.

Practice makes Perfect: This magi stuff sure looked easier on TV. You don't understand your power and it's frustrating trying to use it in combat when you don't get it. Maybe it's time to just take some time to figure this out. Good thing none of the citizens can see you when you transform! Birth of a Witch: You've just learned the terrible truth behind Witches, and it's staring you in the face - someone very close to you has succumbed to despair. In a burst of flame, their corrupted soul gem rearranges itself into a grief seed, completing their transformation.

Can you continue to fight on, knowing that this is the ultimate fate of all magi? Moreover, can you bring yourself to raise your weapon against a dear comrade whom you have been fighting alongside for so long?

Unending Night: Carrying out a magi's duties has never been easy. Although up until now you've successfully navigated your way through countless nightmarescapes and defeated countless foes, this time you might finally be outmatched.

Foe after foe stands before you. There's no end in sight. And with each attack you throw their way, your soul gem seems to grow ever dimmer...

A Cruel Choice: The Witch has fallen, and you've been awarded a grief seed for your valiant efforts. Just in time, too! Your soul gem is in desperate need of cleansing.

But as you look around you, you realize that you're not the only one whose soul gem is in bad shape. There's absolutely no way you can take care of more than one soul gem with just one grief seed. What will you do?

In Fugue: Someone very dear to you has been acting off lately. They spend just a little too much time with the natives of Nyoi-cho, and they seem to resemble themselves less with each passing day. They even seem to be forgetting bits and pieces of their own past, and simple questions on your part lead to them spitting out the same eerie pre-programmed responses that you've grown so accustomed to hearing from the locals.

It's clear that they're being assimilated into the town. You wonder how long it'll be before they cease to recognize you completely and the person you once knew them as simply no longer exists.

[ The voice gives him pause, and he looks back over his shoulder at-- nothing. Glancing somewhat further down fixes that problem quite nicely, even if it doesn't solve much else. What exactly was this girl hoping to prove? She seemed...agitated; likely on behalf of the unfortunate beachgoers he'd chosen to harass, if he had to guess. He cocks his head to the side, stopping his game of liquid dominos for the moment to better direct a sliver of his attention toward Ahiru. She'd asked a question, and while Droog couldn't say he cared enough to give an answer, he was in enough of a better mood to allow such indulgences. Ruining all those fancy beverages had its perks. ]

Just fine. [ A bit hot under the collar in a literal sense, but he's far too stubborn to admit it. ] Lovely day, isn't it?
[ Droog sounds a little distracted for some reason, almost as though he's focusing on something else entirely-- aaand one more drink meets its maker behind Ahiru right as he finishes speaking. He had to have timed that on purpose. ]

[oh, it is a lovely day! Ahiru is about to say so when she hears the person behind her gasp. she turns to look at them, and finds that another can of soda has been dropped into their lap. she squawks and moves in to help them dry off, momentarily forgetting her investigation of the man who might be behind all this.

what proof does she have, anyway?]

[ Oh, he can't not laugh at that. The effort is cute-- rather futile, yes, but it brings a crooked grin to his face regardless. He could go on and on about how it was a waste of time; still, he doubted Ahiru would really listen if she was this concerned with helping. Any of these people could have simply walked into the sea for a few seconds to clean themselves off, but Droog would refrain from pointing that out. Let her do as she pleased, then. ]

If you're going to try and fix every spill, you'll be here a while. [ A mere observation, nothing more. He crosses his arms over his chest almost casually, although he makes no other attempts to relax his posture-- everything else about him remains just as sharp and tense. Whether he's waiting for something or if that's simply how he is isn't quite clear, but it's safe to say it's more of the latter. ] I'd bet that you'll run out of towels before you get to every last one, too.
[ On the plus side, nothing else has taken a tumble-- yet. Maybe there's an end in sight somewhere. ]
Are people here normally this clumsy, or is it my lucky day? Entertainment this quality usually comes with a price tag.

[Ahiru was not going to be able to clean up every spill, certainly, but she was close to this one, which was why she jumped in to help. but this man seems to be purposefully goading her. rude!

her head snaps around in a second as she gives him her deepest frown. it was so rare for Ahiru to get angry, but this guy knew how to push her buttons]

Are you saying you're entertained by this? You're laughing at their expense?

[ Instantly, Droog's face goes completely and utterly blank. His tone betrays nothing, either-- if anything, he sounds almost bored, although he's far from it He's been getting a kick out of the whole scene, but Ahiru didn't need to know that. ]
It's rude to sling those kinds of accusations around, you know. Especially when they don't have any weight to stand on.

[ While she's hit the nail on the head, Droog isn't planning to spill the beans so easily. If she's going to get mad, he was more than happy to keep on baiting her. Idly, he straightens the soul gem pinned to his chest, turning his gaze away from Ahiru in the process. ]
I'm almost hurt-- then again, I'm not sure you know what to accuse me of. If you're going to blame me for anything, perhaps I should be informed of the specifics...?
[ With that, he glances back up, and the amount of smug rolling off of him is downright infuriating. How he manages it, the world may never know. ]

[this guy... he's making her so angry! but he has a soul gem, so Ahiru thinks he must be like her. her own soul gem is pinned to the chest of her bathing suit]

Qu...! I mean! You just called all this [she gestures to the surrounding people] entertainment! It was your own word out of your own mouth! [then she stands up straigh, fists on her hips] I'm accusing you of making fun of these people!

[ Perhaps this is low of him. Being this petty and contradictory was certainly an achievement, particularly considering that he was doing it for its own sake. Wasn't there some sort of moral conflict at play here? She's still so young, after all-- is this really the road he wanted to take? ]
[ Of course it is. ]

[ He gives an exaggerated shrug, the movement almost lazy-- Droog doesn't appear to be in the slightest bit apologetic for all the agitation he's causing. If anything, this is icing on the cake, and he's going to eat it, too. ]
And what if I was, if we're going to entertain your argument for a while? There's hardly anything illegal about that. [ Trust him, he knows crime. ] I don't think there's much you can do about what I find amusing, kid. You can try, but you're not going to get anywhere except frustrated.

[she is frustrated already! someone finds trouble amusing? that's... that's horrible! but he is right about one thing, it's not a crime to be entertained by something. and Ahiru still can't pin the problem on him.

so she's just going to make an annoyed sound before marching away. maybe she should just stick to helping everyone else clean up!]
