Any questions about the history of the town are met with blank stares and brief silence, before they plaster a smile onto their faces and change the subject. Any attempts to tell them about your duties as a magi or anything else that relates to the magical will get similar reactions. Isn't there anyone normal here that you can talk to at all? Home Improvement: The houses that the magi are given access to really are something, aren't they? There's almost no limit to what they can do! As you drift off to sleep, your mind dwells on all the injustices you've had to endure. In response, your bed swallows you up, and your room shifts into a horrific Nightmarescape. [At least they'd both been...Somewhat out of their comfort zones? Haurchefant's fancy new powers seem to lie in his shield these days (given that he has a sword he can summon, but it seems to be mediocre at best); after realising that he'd essentially been wielding a wooden blade, he'd been reduced to slamming the Nightmares with said shield and yelling encouragement instead.

Hard when your shield has a gaping hole, but he manages.

And really, Yukiko's efforts had been inspiring too; not only is she amazingly graceful in form, but she'd really given it a good old college try and that impresses him more than anything.]

Please, dear girl; you had plenty of virtue in your own style. We were adjusting to new things, that's all. [You know someone is very good when they can fight back with a hole in their shield; the other is just like a boss. It got her curious as to how to use one like he did...just in case she couldn't use her fans or fire.

I've been through a couple of things like this back home but not this big of a scale. [More like hop into another world by using electronic devices. But at least he's super nice!
