![]() Prompts Arrival: So you've just arrived in Nyoi-Cho. Congratulations! You must be so excited about having your wish granted. Or maybe you're upset that the result wasn't quite what you expected? If that's the case, then that's too bad! There are no take backs and no redoes, so you're stuck with what you have! Maybe you should have been more careful about how you worded that wish... Oh well. There's no use in dwelling on it. You're a magi now, and that means adjusting to a whole new lifestyle! Maybe one of the townspeople can help you out. Only... they're acting a bit strangely, aren't they? They're all too happy to show you around, but there's something unsettling about the way they're behaving. Almost cheerfully dissonant. Any questions about the history of the town are met with blank stares and brief silence, before they plaster a smile onto their faces and change the subject. Any attempts to tell them about your duties as a magi or anything else that relates to the magical will get similar reactions. Isn't there anyone normal here that you can talk to at all? Home Improvement: The houses that the magi are given access to really are something, aren't they? There's almost no limit to what they can do! Why don't you create the house of your dreams, or maybe recreate and relive your favorite childhood scenes? Invite some spectators over to marvel! A Corrupted Soul Gem: You neglected to take care of your soul gem, and now you don't feel quite yourself anymore. You feel like you're losing your sense of self - all you seem to be able to focus on is your old regrets and past failures. What's happening to you? A Successful Mission: Congratulations! You met up with your first Witch, and you fought valiantly. For your efforts, you've been awarded a grief seed - and with it, access to a brand new power! What sort of power did you get? Is it a useful one, or is it not so useful? Maybe you've mastered it beautifully, and now you're showing off to all of your friends. Maybe you're having a hard time keeping it under wraps, and now you're wreaking havoc across the town without meaning to! A Dreadful Nightmare: You had an absolutely horrid day. As you drift off to sleep, your mind dwells on all the injustices you've had to endure. In response, your bed swallows you up, and your room shifts into a horrific Nightmarescape. What sort of Nightmare are you? What kind of Nightmarescape do you create? Hopefully your fellow magi can stop you before you cause too much damage! Wildcard: Feel free to use any information from the FAQ or the World Info page to make your own prompt! |
Caesar Zeppeli | Jojo's Bizarre Adventure AU
[A; postmeridie]
[He hadn't wished for the burden of a family legacy to be taken off his shoulders. Other twenty-year-old kids weeks after facing an invincible evil might have said 'nope, I'm done', but not Caesar.]
[Bring him back, he'd demanded angrily, pointing an accusing finger at Kyubey. I don't care what you have to do or where you take me. I wish for Joseph Joestar to still be alive!]
[He had to leave his world for that? So what? He'd find a way back or make one himself. Lisa Lisa and Jojo could handle things in the meantime, if it really had worked. If not, he'd find that white cat thing and shake it until a miracle fell out.]
[For now, Caesar took a deep breath. The sunlight inherent in his blood didn't respond, but the light of a bright afternoon glinted off the golden stone set in his skin--in the center of a vaguely sun-shaped birthmark on the back of his left shoulder. The sleeveless black shirt he wore displayed both that and the left hand which was raised to cover it...a prosthetic made of dark gray metal, stopping halfway up his forearm.]
Santo cielo, this is going to be a long day.
[To say the least.]
[B; pugna cum maga]
That wasn't so difficult.
[Caesar shook out his right hand as though he'd hurt it punching something. Which he probably had--his weapon of choice was a pair of gloves, and his fighting style of 'hit it until it stops moving' was just a little bit reckless. Picking up the Grief Seed that had fallen, he turned to the nearest person with a slight frown.]
You didn't get hurt, did you?
[C; wildcard]
[anytime, anywhere, hit me up i'll be there]
B
It takes her a moment to realize he had been addressing her. She shakes her head quickly, finding her voice.]
No, 'm okay. Are you okay?
[Because punching something that much had to hurt.]
no subject
[He shrugged, curling his left hand into a fist and uncurling it with a metallic sound. He'd probably need to find a screwdriver later, if magic couldn't fix what were probably a few loose screws. At this rate it'd probably be more efficient to start swinging a wrench around.]
Here-- [He held out the Grief Seed to her, indifferent.] You should take this, I'm hardly going to keep it myself.
no subject
[Then she looks at the Grief Seed, looking from it to him. A part of her knows it would be smart to take it, but a larger part can't help but feel it wouldn't be fair. He was the one who actually defeated the thing.
So she shakes her head, smiling at him. Her gem will be fine, she thinks.]
You should hang onto it. You never know when you might need and emergency Grief Seed!
A!
The ovular red gem set in the hollow of her throat tells her that, in some form, her wish has been granted, but nobody seemed to know how she could be sure. She's distracted as she approaches a figure out of the corner of her eye, searching streets and alleyways and only turning her head when she's close enough to speak; ]
E-excuse me, if you should have just a moment, I'm afraid that I--
[ And then she stops... and then she looks up, because apparently, Jennifer's accidentally approached a giant for information.
Whatever questions she might have had die in her mouth. She slinks back a few steps, bringing one hand delicately to her throat with a surprised little gasp. ]
Oh, I - um. I'm...
no subject
I have a moment and a few more to go along with it, signorina. [But he greeted her with the practiced smile of one that had talked to a lot of girls in his time, hiding his left hand in his pocket.] What can I do for you?
no subject
Unfortunately, Jennifer is easily intimidated, and downright tiny next to him. Though his apparent friendliness sees her sloping shoulders loosen a little bit, she's still considerably cowed. She swallows and looks to her feet as she tries to scrape her courage together, pressing her hands at her waist to stop the sudden tremble wracking them. He seems friendly, and unlike the native residents she's spoken to. He may have answers.
It takes a moment for Jennifer to find her voice, small and fraught with nerves as it is. ]
I... well, I'm afraid that I am rather lost. [ She glances up, and then, fluttering and quick; ] I'm sorry, I-I very much hate to be a bother, of course, but it's just... this is all very, erm, confusing. I suppose that I was hoping that I should find someone a bit more aware of things.
no subject
It's hardly any bother at all. To be a little blunt I find I'm lost in this situation myself, but I can try to help if you need it.
[Poor kid looked like a startled rabbit, really. This was a difficult enough thing to handle even for someone like him, so what was it like for people who hadn't seen vastly stranger things in the past month alone?]
[...probably seriously screwed up, actually.]
no subject
[ She remains cordial, keeps what slight disappointment she feels out of her tone as well as she can manage to. He might not know much more then she does, but at the very least, he seems more aware then the others that she's spoken to. ]
Unfortunate for us both, then. [ Her fingers come back up to her throat, pressing gently at the gemstone fit under her collar. She can't feel it pushing her throat. ] I'm just - I'm afraid that I find myself unclear as to this... wishing business.
[ She looks up a little nervously, because the whole thing sounds sort of crazy when she revisits it in her head. ] I don't mean to pry, of course... but did you also make a wish? In order to be brought here, I mean.
no subject
[Jojo, you idiot. If you're not there when I get back, someone's going to pay for this.]
It was a little impulsive- [like everything else he did] -but I do remember wishing for something.
did someone say JOJOS
Goodness me...
[She murmurs to herself without expecting anyone else to be listening, turning to instead inspect the rest of herself as if she's surprised about having a body at all, or at least a corporeal one.]
[muffled bloody stream in the distance]
Mi scusi, signorina--er, excuse me. [She looked about as confused as he felt, so Caesar put his metal left hand in his pocket and took a few steps closer.] Did you just encounter some strange little cat as well?
b; if i'm indulging you you have to indulge me
[And patronizing. She looked at him with a deliberately neutral expression for a moment, then bounced on her toes a little - from her position standing on her opponent's neck. Bounce, bounce. Aaand hopping off onto the ground now.]
Apparently not.
seems legit
[This girl, to put it bluntly, did not screw around. His own style was aggressive and direct; she seemed different and yer not the slightest bit less brutal.]
Thanks for your help.
no subject
Of course. I was expecting . . . more.

Victory over those who don't provide a challenge means nothing and changes nothing.
[So, fucking yes.]
no subject
[That sounded like an honest question, Caesar folding his arms as he looked at her. It was true enough that fighting weaker enemies didn't accomplish much, but...]
It must have changed a lot, for anyone that thing could have killed.
no subject
They'll keep coming. When I'm gone, they'll still be here. At the level of power I'm at now, I won't be able to make this place safe. So while it might change something, it doesn't change nearly enough.
B
[Diarmuid is breathing hard, hands tightly gripping the spears he brought with him. Despite his negative answer, though, his pale face and the bruise forming on his cheek say differently. He is not used to fighting in a purely human form or with ordinary weapons. More importantly, though, he is not used to fighting while at the same time struggling to keep up the barriers around his mind so that the darkness and despair that flooded the witch's world did not eat him alive.]
You really took care of that quickly.
[It might have been messy, but at the same time, he envies the strength in the other man's fighting style. He feels anything but strong at the moment.]
no subject
[His tone was dismissive at best despite having literally just punched an eldritch horror with magic gloves, Caesar walking over and handing Diarmuid the witch's Grief Seed. It looked like he needed it more, frankly.]
...I can take care of that bruise if you like, amico.
[Caesar's wish had been made with someone else's salvation in mind--simple healing seemed to be part of the deal. Which worked out quite well for him; that had just been one application of the power he used to have.]
no subject
[For a moment, Diarmuid just looks at the grief seed before reluctantly taking it.]
Are you sure you don't need it?
[Even if he is about to fall over, Diarmuid always puts others before himself.]
Bruise? What do you me--
[Diarmuid's words cut off as he moves in just the right way that he suddenly feels the bruise on his cheek. The pain spreads down into his jaw and actually makes him a little lightheaded. It's not because of the pain so much as the fact that the pain makes his mental shields waver and with all the leftover emotion in the air, that hurts. A lot.]
If you would, please...
no subject
[Caesar tilted his head, flashing an arrogant grin.]
As for that little trinket, I don't need it as much as you. Come here, if nothing else I can make it hurt less. [He beckoned Diarmuid over with his mechanical hand, raising the other a few inches away from the bruise on his face. Out of sheer habit, he took a deep breath and let it out slowly, Soul Gem glowing like a golden sunrise as his gloves did the rest of the work.]
no subject
[Or die trying. Again. He would very much like to avoid that.]
Thank you, on both accounts. I promise I will pay you back one day.
[Diarmuid steps forward, shutting his eyes as Caesar starts to heal him. The glow is so bright, he can still see it, though, and that is comforting as the pain fades away.]
You're really good at that. I wish I was as good with my abilities as you are.
no subject
[Caesar shrugged, lowering his hand and folding his arms.]
So there's no need to worry about paying me back. Just watch yourself next time, that'll be enough.
