If that's the case, then that's too bad! There are no take backs and no redoes, so you're stuck with what you have! Maybe you should have been more careful about how you worded that wish... Oh well. There's no use in dwelling on it. You're a magi now, and that means adjusting to a whole new lifestyle! Maybe one of the townspeople can help you out. Only... they're acting a bit strangely, aren't they? They're all too happy to show you around, but there's something unsettling about the way they're behaving. Almost cheerfully dissonant. Any questions about the history of the town are met with blank stares and brief silence, before they plaster a smile onto their faces and change the subject. Any attempts to tell them about your duties as a magi or anything else that relates to the magical will get similar reactions. Isn't there anyone normal here that you can talk to at all? Home Improvement: The houses that the magi are given access to really are something, aren't they? There's almost no limit to what they can do! Why don't you create the house of your dreams, or maybe recreate and relive your favorite childhood scenes? Invite some spectators over to marvel! [ Terezi raises her head when she hears Dave is also alive and well. It seems most of their crew was here. She shouldn't let it surprise her any, but it's a huge relief to hear all the same. Maybe everyone was here, tucked away in one of these fine little hives.

At the subject of Gamzee, Terezi just nods a bit, refraining from airing out all her insecurities. It was true Gamzee had it coming to him and really what did it matter if it wasn't her that sliced him into bits? She probably could make peace with it being Kanaya. ]

I just wish Karkat didn't have to see that.

[ Kanaya was capable and deadly, Karkat was precious and vulnerable. Gamzee had killed him so fast. It was pump biscuit shattering.

At the mention of Rose Terezi smiles a bit. ]

[Ah, someone after his own heart since he uses titles as signs of the respect he gives everyone upon meeting them. It is then up to them to prove if they are deserving or undeserving of that respect.

[ Just ignore the fact that he looks too old for school (thanks, canon) because Vislor Turlough is at school and is grumping up a storm. Save the world, grant his wish, he's perfectly fine with that! He can even put aside some of his fear to fight off these nightmares. The problem is the day to day aspects. Turlough had never been good at liking school to begin with. He enjoyed history perfectly fine but with regards to everything else, what was the point?

Public school was quite possibly one of the worst places on earth in his opinion. It only made sense that it would be one of the worst places in Nyoi-Cho as well.

So, after sitting through one class, he gets up, leaves the classroom and...is blatantly just going to cut class. When somebody gives him the stink eye or a confused look, Turlough just turns to them and asks, ]

[ The problem with your wish being a vague one ("I want to keep traveling—I don't want to go home!") is that it gives you vague powers. And Turlough has yet to figure out how his teleportation powers can be used offensively. Which is a problem when whatever nightmare they're fighting currently has Turlough stuck via something (sticky? barriers? I'm flexible, we can work with this) and he is pretty much a sitting duck.

So naturally, the proper response to this situation is to yell at whoever else is here with him. ] Well don't just stand there! Attack it!

Turlough had been spending most of the school day sulking up a storm and looking out the window (while debating whether or not he should actually keep attending school in the first place), but now that he saw Mami, his mood's improved greatly. He can't help but look her over, as if trying to place her species. Certainly something he's never seen, which only makes him all the more interested.

And...the birdgirl's asking about the culinary club. Really? ]

[She does take his arm, knowing well such manners from her time in Cainhurst Castle. Any man of nobility would offer his arm, she assumes Sir Diarmuid must be a man of some status. Though she does not require such chivalry, it is not something she scoffs at.

Listening to his explanation of the homes and their relationship with a person Soul Gem causes her pause. She had just awoken, too preoccupied with her new setting to realize, but there was a strange addition to her body. She reaches her hand to her neck, feeling the embedded gem over her Carotid artery, hidden beneath her ascot. It felt as if blood rushed through it, pulsing with the beating of her heart. Maria adjusted her hat after, knowing there was nothing she could to about it now. It was apart of her.]

My kind were known as Hunters and we did battle with nightmares most foul. No different is my charge, in this place. I will not be severed from my title now. [she was a Hunter of the Workshop onto her death, she would be one in this new life, as well]

[you couldn't call Maria's culture PC, by any stretch. They used to name the Old Ones all sorts of rude things. Maria assumes that asking if the creature has a name is more respectful than just deciding to call it something, like the Church preferred to do.]

Is Sir Yuuya pleasing? [flirtatious as the last word may be, her tone considers it a matter of respect and dignity. She wouldn't flirt with a man, let alone a bird]

[ More so than others, Kanaya is willing to actually listen to people's problems, even if she can't do much to help. And right now, it doesn't seem like Karkat's problems can be solved by bottling it up, or even just convincing him that he needs to stop worrying like a pap or shoosh would imply. Eventually she lets go though, pulling back from him, not wanting to make things more awkward by holding on. ]

Honestly... I'm not sure. It just sort of does. The humans that I have become acquainted with here consider it all magic, but in the end it doesn't seem all that different from what we're used to. Except for the transformation aspect.

[ mami freezes, eyes wide and mouth open in the process of saying something. she takes a deep breath, trying to get her wings relaxed into a natural pose, and attempts to approach the situation with some dignity. after all, this madoka is still important too, and she doesn't want to just flip out on her. ]

"Deer-you"? There's another Madoka here?

Oh, I'm more than used to figuring things out by myself. Maybe I can find a lovely lady to assist me, if truly necessary.

... but, as for the name, yes, that's more than fine, mon amie. It sounds quite noble, even dashing.

[Life in Nyoi-Cho is normal. At least, that's what Silver thinks he's supposed to feel. All of the buildings are too small. The houses are too quaint. The streets look like they've been put together with bricks. It's too quiet. And there are no Pokémon anywhere--not even a common Pidgey or Rattata. It sets his nerves on edge.

It's not that Nyoi-Cho is strange, he thinks; he's the strange one, put off and unsettled by what everyone else who lives here seems to think of as normal.]

[That being said, there is nothing normal about what he's looking at right now. It's something so baffling that he's having a hard time categorizing it with his other experiences. What he's looking at is closer to a Pidgeot than a Fearow--but undersized, all the wrong colors, and wearing glasses.

This has to be a Magi. A Magi that also happens to be... some kind of flying type. (Do the things that aren't Pokémon eve have types?) When he catches himself staring, Silver purses his lips and scowls.]

Tch. Too late for this one. [When all else fails, he can just direct his annoyance towards the fact that he was too late for this fight. There will be others, but it was an annoying waste of time to reach the edge of a Nightmare's domain just as it was defeated.]

[ Turlough can't help but scoff, shaking his head as she keeps talking. Adjusting to a new life? Forget that, just do what you want. And Turlough, who was perfectly fine to agree to kill someone if it gets him out of public school and off of Earth, does not understand that. ]

You're obviously not one of those people, [ said with an idle gesture to some townperson classmate, with that unnerving smile plastered on their face. ] You can do whatever you want. So why not leave this dull place?

[In all honesty, Yuuya should have tried to find an ally. His powers were not really suitable for solo missions, much to his dismay. He'd gotten out of this one because it was very weak and he was very lucky. He will proceed to not acknowledge this truth at all.]

Ah, salutations! Terribly sorry if you were after this one. [he doesn't sound sorry at all, his tone is entirely light-hearted] A hero of justice just can't leave a situation like this alone, you see.

[ mami considers her answer carefully. how much does she want to divulge to a stranger? beyond her previous experience with kyubey, just -- in general. she makes a soft noise of thought. ]

I have a duty that extends to some of those here. It's not as simple as just leaving, even if I could.

[ said as if that's the most obvious thing possible. What sort of duty does she have that extends to school? ]
