There's no use in dwelling on it. You're a magi now, and that means adjusting to a whole new lifestyle! Maybe one of the townspeople can help you out. Only... they're acting a bit strangely, aren't they? They're all too happy to show you around, but there's something unsettling about the way they're behaving. Almost cheerfully dissonant. Any questions about the history of the town are met with blank stares and brief silence, before they plaster a smile onto their faces and change the subject. Any attempts to tell them about your duties as a magi or anything else that relates to the magical will get similar reactions. Isn't there anyone normal here that you can talk to at all? Home Improvement: The houses that the magi are given access to really are something, aren't they? There's almost no limit to what they can do! To-ku-ga-wa... okay cool. [Writing it down, Kamala turned to Madoka with a grateful smile.] Thanks. American history has nothing on learning something overseas. We really don't get into specifics back home even in World History.

[She opens her mouth to say "I lived there for three years!"...it doesn't come out. She's not sure she really lived there, not anymore. Not that this new student need to know that!]

H-ha, its the same in Japanese schools, we just learn basics of World History!

[Kamala grinned a little.] I guess that's a good point. It's not like we're going to get too indepth. Besides, my school's more science focused, what with the grant that Mr. Stark gave our science lab.

Yeah, scientist, entrepreneur, man of the year in 2010, lots of things. Our school got a grant and some equipment and it was nice of him, considering that he's kind of having financial troubles right now. His company tanked.

Well... he certainly likes to needle me about my science homework.

Science is important, though, isn't it? Without it we wouldn't have computers and stuff. I mean, I'm probably not going to be a scientist when I grow up, but...

It is. But he's more interested in making sure that one of his teammates isn't failing High School Science.

Yeah kinda. I dunno if you've heard of the Avengers before? We're a... superhero team.

[This whole hiding her identity thing was really taking a hit, because right now there was little reason to and yet, it gored Kamala to have to be all open with it.]

Yeah I was. I was on a team that protected the New York area, and other places when we can.

It was... kind of an accident? I was having trouble at school because of a incident and I wished that I would be anyone but me right now. It gave me shapeshifting powers back but took away all of my other ones. Except the healing factor of course.

An accident? But didn't you tell the fairy you didn't want to actually make a wish, then? Or...

Well its kind of like those passing remarks. Like "Oh god I wish I didn't do that" and "I wish the ground could swallow me up right now to spare me from this embarrassment." That sort of thing.

Yeah, and they weren't supposed to I'm guessing?

Yeah, I know right? It's really kind of dumb. I'm guessing the thing that granted it really had no pickyness that day.
